Review: Sweet, innocent stories - 8 yr old boy loved these simple, sweet stories. Short and suitable for reading by themselves. Requested after reading 'The Owl who was afraid of the Dark' at school. My favourite was the one about the penguin. His favourite was the one about the cat. Nicely written and very innocent with comforting, reassuring themes for young kids. Makes a change from the, now ubiquitous, slightly too knowing humour, slapstick and frenetic stories doing the rounds in most children's literature currently.

8 yr old boy loved these simple, sweet stories. Short and suitable for reading by themselves. Requested after reading 'The Owl who was afraid of the Dark' at school. My favourite was the one about the penguin. His favourite was the one about the cat. Nicely written and very innocent with comforting, reassuring themes for young kids. Makes a change from the, now ubiquitous, slightly too knowing humour, slapstick and frenetic stories doing the rounds in most children's literature currently.
