I used it to make mini pies for my mom's 70th birthday party and it was a breeze! You have to be careful not to get the bottom crust too thin or it breaks when you take it out. If your top and bottom dough aren't matching in size, the top will split off. I do recommend the egg wash, it seems to help keep them together better, but it's not a must.
