They stuck out very tiny bit which helped if it fell as the phone screen doesnt rlly touch the surface. Even when i lay it flat. I guess these bumpers absorb the shock of the fall. The back material is hard so that's also very protective. Although it covers the volume & on/off button, you can hardly even tell as it doesnt feel stiff or anything at all like most cases that cover these buttons. My phone does not look bulky at all which was surprising as it has these bumpers. I wanted the phone to be protected but I also wanted to enjoy the look as style of the phone as it was.This case was nice to hold, added extra protection to the corners, durable & strong & fit well.Over time it did eventually become discoloured inside from dust & dirt over time irregardless of regularly cleaning. All in all a good case but perhaps the design or material could be reviewed to not discolour. It did take around 6-8 months for this to begin to happen and then slowly got worse.I would still recommend this case as value for money it's worth it but just be aware there is a likely chance of it discolouring the clear visibility over time.
