First off the shocks are very very stiff which is nice but also makes rides a lot more bumpy than my stock fork. However this one doesn't shutter front and back when i hit the brakes going 40mph, my stock ones did that at 20mph. I wasn't able to use the bearings it came with but i managed to get my stock ones and their race to fit on this. Overall very happy. Review: Fit into a standard frame of full suspension MTB with addition of sealed bearing cartridges of proper size. I am very happy with the looks. Performance wise, of course you cannot expect the same level of comfort of oil/gas filled professional shocks. Also these are threadless. So again these are 1 1/8” Thredless forks. **Q: Are the brackets where the wheel bolt up steel or aluminum?** A: steel **Q: would 27.5 inch rim with 2.3 tire work with this fork?** A: Please don't cut the horse shoe off. If you cut the horseshoe off and install a larger tire you run a very likely risk of the fork bottoming out on the tire and face planting you in to the ground.
