The space available and design in my opinion would work well as a diaper bag. It has room for diapers in the large main compartment, (if you remove the built in firearm holster) and a baby bottle or two may fit in there as well. The side compartments would easily hold baby wipes and baby binkies/pacifiers. I believe that it would work well. **Q: Would I be able to run a belt anywhere through this pack?** A: If your belt is about 1 inch.....it has an additional waist strap that you use to hook around your waist.....those hook extensions could hold a thin belt...I really enjoy mine...extremely well made **Q: Is this bag big enough for an iPad?** A: yes ,it should be fine for 10.9 inch plus iPAD screen **Q: "Main Compartment Measurement" With total width dimension of 9.8 less 3.8 for side pouches then the middle body is only 6" wide?** A: I just measured it. The main compartment is 6-7 inches across. I guess you get 9.8 if you pulled the sides. I bought this as a gift for a new shooter to take to the range with only 1 handgun. I didn't need another bag. But this is a sturdy made well organized lil bag I can use for work or as any small day use all purpose bag. Not to big to carry a small amount, not to small when u need to carry a little more. Straps are strong and I like the extra straps to secure it so that it doesn't flop around: there's a velcro belt strap and another strap to go across the front. Some bags I throw away. Put into storage.
