Review: Take your time!!! - The restorer Color gave my canvas top the refresh it desperately needed. As I applied the product with a traditional paint brush, I Immediately followed the strokes with disposable foam brushes to help spread the product which seemed to help. I felt applying it with a paint brush didn’t spread evenly or easily. Not sure if it was due to the top soaking in the dye or the horsehair paintbrush just not speeding well enough and not the right brush. The bottle says there’s enough to yield a typical 4 seater car. Mine is a 4 seater however a small one. I was really cutting it close at the end with very little restorer left over. Would’ve been great if the bottles were slightly larger for the money. Do as they say. Do diligence and Tape off the body and window areas well. I used blue painters tape and newspaper. I bought the 3 step kit. The cleaner was the best I’ve used yet. Way better than the 303 top cleaner I’ve used. waterproofer was awesome too. Before and after pics shown. Even with some of the above stated I’d still buy it again, 5 stars hands down.

- WHAT DOES THIS PRODUCT DO - Specially formulated to colour restore your faded canvas soft top this colour restorer will present a strong and even finish penetrating deep into your canvas top. Used after Protex Canvas Cleaner, colour restoring your top is the second stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- FOLLOW UP - It is recommended that the canvas is then sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer.
- COVERAGE & PREPARATION - It is recommended that approximately 1 Litre of product is sufficient to restore a top for a 4 seater car. It is best to apply the product in cool/overcast conditions so that drying time is not too fast and to avoid causing an uneven finish.
- APPLICATION STEP 1 - Shake the bottle well and decant sufficient product into a separate container to apply to the soft top. Then start at the centre and work outwards apply the restorer quickly and evenly with a clean paint brush taking care not to spill any onto the vehicles paintwork.
- APPLICATION STEP 2 - Leave for 3 hours to allow the restorer to dry and if required recoat and again allow 3 hours drying time. Do not expose to moisture until the restorer has completely dried.

**Q: does the product have uneven brush strokes since they recommend using a paint brush? I.E. dark and light spots?**
A: No uneven brush strokes or dark & light spots. Clean the top well, then tape off everything except the canvas top with plastic sheeting (could use newspaper). I applied two full coats of the black Protex World Convertible canvas restorer. First apply one coat - eight hours between - apply next coat. Next same thing with the Protex waterproof product 2-Coats dry eight hours or overnight between. My 2005 Audi TT Roadster needed two full coats of each product (= 1 liter or two 500ml). Finished product ROCKS!! New Hampshire USA endorses Protex World canvas restoral products!

**Q: I wish to treat a beige/cream color ragtop and change it to black, will this effectively do that?**
A: The product will not help turn beige to black.  It will turn a dull black to a refreshed shiny black.

**Q: How long does this product last? I don’t expect this product to last for 20 years but 3 months said one review. Really?**
A: It will last a lot longer if the Waterproofer is applied every six months. Most customer apply the Restorer every couple of years.

**Q: Can i use it on a burgundy soft top?**
A: Only if burgundy is an offered color….I use this on my black top and it looks wonderful….

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Changed from Tan to Black on my C5 Corvette.....

I have nothing to lose, my wife didn't like the tan top and wanted to switch to black, after researching getting a new black top ($300 used and much more for new that's if I install) I looked at Protex World Convertible Soft Top Canvas Restorer Black to see if I could just use this. I had already deep cleaned the top really well so it was stain free and looking great, my wife still wanted black. I purchased one quart of Black. I did three coats of black, I let the 1st coat dry for 3 hours then applied second, that dried over night, third coat went on the next night. results speak for themselves see before and after pictures. The corvette top was very easy to work with and tape off, I loosened the top handles slide newspaper under seals and used old towels on truck portion, taped off windows and used a cheap brush (if I had to do it again I'd get a nicer brush bristles came off here and there had to pick them off) and started in the center of the top and work your way to front and sides. The first coat the top was loose (my thought was maybe being loose the fabric would soak in more color), the second and third coat I tightened as if I were to drive it. If I had to do it again I would have ordered the package dye and sealer and save $5.00, so now sometime before I get it out of storage I need to order up the sealer. I used three coats with one quart container and still have some left over. So in short, you can not see any Tan fabric at all, this is a summer car (3rd car along with a motorcycle), so the top should be down most of the time, if however I need to touch up or put another coat on I will, this will save me hundreds of dollars, just my thoughts.
