All of the surfaces a rope or soft shackle will interface with are very smooth with broad radius curves. It is light yet durable due to being made of 7075 aluminum. The only thing I can actually say that is negative about it is that one dimension is not correct in the listing. It shows that it is 1.6" thick which is not accurate at all. I measured closer to 1.16" thick (see picture). Either way, it is a good buy and a great piece of kit to have for vehicle recovery. ************************************************ My Rating Scale: 5 STARS - Item worked better than advertised and exceeded my expectations. The item provided more value than I anticipated and is a great deal. The item seems very well made and should last for a long time.
