In a nutshell, you have two options. You can use the installed converter: Remove the pen barrel, rotate the top section of the converter to depress the plunger. Hold the pen, nib down. Lower the pen into a bottle of ink so that the entire nib is submerged. Rotate the top section of the converter to raise the plunger and fill with ink. Remove from ink. Apply tissue paper to nib to clean excess ink. Reattach pen barrel. Or you can unscrew the converter and use the catridges that are in the envelope underneath the pen tray.
