I've had the megaphone out in extremely wet conditions during which I've tape a plastic bag over the speaker/battery area at the end and cut the rest of the bag off. The megaphone works well during this as well. My biggest complaint about the megaphone is that it is heavy. It is also large. I would prefer a smaller, lighter model, but this thing works and it is loud, so it gets the job done. **Q: Is the megaphone waterproof?** A: No, that Megaphone is not waterproof. When the microphone gets wet it will stop working. However, once dry it worked again. I used it in the rain and in leaky jon boats. The solution was to wrap the microphone in plastic when it rains and avoid getting the microphone wet. The alternative was to purchase a real waterproof megaphone at 4x the cost.
