Brodies have been blending tea since 1867, when the great tea clippers would dock in Scotland at the Port of Leith, laden with precious cargo. The tea clippers are now gone but we are still sourcing and blending the finest teas from around the world.

A black tea, Famous Edinburgh Tea is a blend of Ceylon and Kenya tea leaves. Ceylon tea leaves are used to make the tea light and refreshing. Kenyan tea leaves give the tea is bright edge. Although Brodies may be unfamiliar to many tea drinkers outside of Scotland, the company makes distinctly Scottish Teas. Famous Edinburgh is definitely a Scottish Tea. It is smooth and full-bodied. The package of Brodies Famous Edinburgh comes in the distinctive drum. The drum holds 50 tea bags. The drum is approximately 7 inches high and 3 inches around. Each tea bag weighs 2.5 grams. A: It is considered to have milder flavor (compared with the breakfast tea).  The manufacturer doesn't specify the caffeine levels and they don't currently offer a caffeine free tea.

**Q: What is the optimal steeping time and temperature?**
A: Temperature should be boiling hot; if the water is hot enough, you'll only need to step for 3 minutes or so for good, strong tea.  Enjoy!

**Q: I love my scottish afternoon tea.  how does edinburgh tea compare to it?**
A: I first bought this in Edinburgh after having it at high tea in the afternoon - it’s by far my favorite (and I’m a avid tea person!)
