This was a fairly high end bike with Shimano Deore in the back and 105 up front. The original Deore in the back was pretty tired so I decided to replace it. I’ve bought 3 deraileurs recently, two Alvio and one low profile Alvio class. They are good units, but have a fair amount of plastic in them.The 105 series is a step above Deore in quality and this one seems to be all aluminum like the one it replaced.It worked well for this bike which has 700C rims. I ultimately had to replace the cassette as it was jumping gears, but the bike is all Shimano now, new rapid fire shifters too, all the SRAM junk is finally gone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great *by T***Y on September 4, 2024* I destroyed my original rear 105 when I installed a chain improperly. I was able to find this and install and properly install my chain and have toured on it and it works great. Saved a ton of money vs. having it done at a shop, not only do they charge an arm and a leg, some of the attitudes of the shops were condescending, they only wanted to sell me a new bike.
