Recommend! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review *by P***J on 30 June 2024* This is quite simple to install with clear instructions, so it is ideal for anyone to tackle with relative ease. The first thing that I noticed with the sound quality is the voices seem to separate much nicer than the standard TV speakers. The overall separation is good, but the voice separation into the centre is pretty smart. The bass is a little heavy though when pumped up, which can distort, so it really should be able to be set as high, but this seems to be a common theme with subs in most cheaper systems, so you just have to dial it back to a reasonable level that doesn't distort and you are fine. The main criticism I have with this set is that the 'surround' isn't taken from any rear channel encoding and just generated from the 2.1 signal. I am not sure why this was preferred but it seems like a simple dolby digital encoding chip would have made for a much better experience, so much so that I find myself not using the surround most of the time, which is a shame. That aside even as non surround setup it sounds ace and is still worth the purchase, but I would probably go for their uprated system with Atmos over this one if you really want a good surround experience. The product is made to a good standard and has a nice finish to it, and looks smart enough for any home, with nice clean lines and bevelled edges. Considering the sound quality and separation this really does represent a decent value setup for a first time buyer and I would imagine it wouldn't be replaced any time soon by most buyers and would probably be used for a couple of years at least before considering the upgrade and even then it would easily move nicely to another TV such as a bedroom setup. So yeah 4 stars, which is good, just deducted a star for not having a proper surround channel, which isn't a big deal, but it is a deal that stops this being a 5 star review.
