## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the hex width? 11/16"?**
A: The outside dimension (from the flat side to the opposite flat side) is 9/16 in. The inside diameter is about 3/8 in. The Hex nut fits on a standard Threaded Lamp Pipe (Threaded 1/8-IP). I am also trying to find what the thread size is so I can use thicker nuts. I build Industrial and Steampunk Lamps and use a lot of this product.

**Q: What is the thickness of the nut?  Looking for thinner than 2.5mm (0.1 inch)**
A: I measured five (5) and found the thickness to range from 0.120" - 0.124".

These nuts work great for 3/8" diameter (actual) fine-thread lamp pipe. They are also the right size and thread pitch for panel mounting electrical components (switches etc) that have a 3/8" threaded shaft. They are sturdy and not too thin, well made and coated in yellow zinc for corrosion protection.
