I use it with a Lidl chainsaw and the vice jaw clamps a just the correct size that they don’t foul the chain. But it’s close. **Q: Is this compatible with all makes of chainsaws please?** A: Yes. It can be used with all makes of chainsaw. **Q: How hard is this to assemble?** A: That would depend on your skill level. You do need a couple of spanners that are not supplied. Pliers will not suffice. It took me around 40 minutes. I'm guessing that if you are competent to use a chain saw then this assembly shouldn't pose too many problems. The assembly diagram differs every so slightly from the instructions but you can see whats correct from the diagram. A good product when assembled that will save you lots of time when logging. **Q: Will it hold a sthil ms181 12inch chainsaw?** A: Hi I use a stihl MSA 200 on this saw horse ,I dont know to measure a chainsaw ie is it the total length of the saw bar or is it how far it protrudes from the saw body? So I measured how far it protrudes from the body it is 12 inches.this works well with the bench, the saw bar has a coating which is quite sippery helps the bar when cutting so the saw bar clamp of the saw horse needs to be tight,put some oil on the clamp thread and use the tubular tommy bar supplied to tighten the clamp.On green oak the saw and saw horse will cope with logs of up to around seven to 8 inches diameter which is better than specified though be careful,it is driven by an electric motor not a high power two stoke engine,but at least it starts easily ,thats why I went electric,chain saws do not like bio petrol.The only problem with all these Oriental saw horses is that they seem to be meant to be operated by dwarfs,I raise mine on blocks of wood to get a comfortable working height, when I was buying one I checked the height of my neighbours similar saw horse although another make they were a similar height,also check price which varies a great deal for the same product , ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant product *by J***Y on 22 June 2020* We need a lot of firewood and are fortunate to have lots of field boundaries that regular need maintaining. This Saw Horse has made the process of sawing logs to the right size so much more efficient, much easier on my back and, very importantly, much safer for an amateur like me. Strongly recommended and excellent value for money. The instructions are pretty clear, though it is a bit fiddly to assemble. You need to set it up for left or right handed use (though it doesn't take long to correct it if you make a mistake with that). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, but not straightforward to assemble *by M***T on 3 February 2025* Bent brackets, weld spatter in threads, and atrocious instructions - but, after some fettling, turning stuff around, and peering at the picture on the box, I got there within an hour.Not a bad bit of kit in the end and one of the cheaper options: Strong and sturdy, it's the safest way to cut firewood I know of BUT you really do need to crank the clamp down onto the chainsaw bar to stop it slipping. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product, slightly let down by the instructions. *by J***I on 24 August 2020* This is a really well made piece of kit, and I'm delighted with it. The instructions could be considerably more helpful, though. The photographs look as though they have been reproduced many, many times from a photogravure plate made in the last century.If you're going to put it together, first of all DO read everything. Put all the fiddly bits on a large piece of paper and write their designations in the diagram on page 2 next to them. Lay out all the other pieces and you might write their designations on them with felt tip. Photograph the exploded diagram so you can enlarge details or, if you have a printer/scanner/copier, print an enlarged copy.Only finger tighten the nuts until you've managed to get the whole thing together.One step is REALLY tricky because you have to attach a nut to a bolt from the side because one of the plates is already attached, blocking access from the top - it's slightly easier if you have another person but this is the point when you realise the person who designed this never actually put it together.
