The white pvc one and the black rubber one? Do i need silicone?** A: The white gasket is meant to be used in place of plumber's putty - it doesn't matter what kind of sink you have. Put the white gasket on first, then run the strainer body through the hole in your sink. From the bottom of the sink put the black gasket on ribbed side up and tighten with the plastic nut. BTW, I missed my instructions at first - they were in the sealed bag with the stopper. **Q: can the sink strainer be used in line with a garbage disposal?
