Review: Colourful, playful and very neatly made - I was a bit put off reading all the reviews on here, but I'm glad I made the purchase. I have found this product to be very neatly made, good quality - no paint rubbing off, no wood chipping off, no sharp edges, no rough sides. Its beautifully made, the shapes fit the slots very well and the fact that there are so many, just makes the fun last longer. My 2yr old is in love with it, he has been playing with it all day today and he has decided to take it to bed too, its keeping him company while he sleeps. He has been loving sliding shapes into the box or even just dropping them in emptying out the box all over again. he knows his basic shapes, so this has provided him with new vocabulary and a lot more shapes to learn. I'm going to take this on a 14hr flight with us, hoping it'll keep him engaged for sometime. Love how it looks and its pretty sturdy too.

**Q: Is the paint on the blocks non toxic? I am concerned about lead based or toxic paint because my child puts it in her mouth.**
A: Melissa and Doug's official email responses posted by other inquiring parents neither confirm or denies but reiterates their commitment to constant testing and audit of their toys from their overseas production facilities. My main concern is their prior recalls in Canada for elevated levels of Barium which is a heavy metal. There was no recall in the US as our threshold is higher than the Canadian standard. To be fair recalls for any manufacturer across any industry are common and M&D now adheres to the stricter standard for the US as well, however, I have seen a fair amount of their toys with paint chip even after light usage. My own collection of toys for my 15 mo old have been retired as I do not want him ingesting any paint chip period. And their lack of response to my email inquiry after receiving a defective set has made me purchase other brands for my baby's toys.

**Q: What is the recommended age for this product?**
A: @Gabi Yeah I was wondering why it said 2+. I was thinking why 2? Couldn’t it be way younger? I was/ am just confused.

A: The size of the wooden Cube is roughly between 5 3/4 and 6 inches.The shapes are roughly between 1 1/2 to 2 inches.Hope it helps

**Q: Where is this product made?**
A: In the Product Details of the page, it says, "Origin: China." I don't know if that turns you off, but it definitely helped teach my 22-month old how to say "oval," "diamond," and "hexagon." Yes, hexagon! But he spends more time making towers out of the blocks than fitting the blocks in the holes.

I was a bit put off reading all the reviews on here, but I'm glad I made the purchase. I have found this product to be very neatly made, good quality - no paint rubbing off, no wood chipping off, no sharp edges, no rough sides. Its beautifully made, the shapes fit the slots very well and the fact that there are so many, just makes the fun last longer. My 2yr old is in love with it, he has been playing with it all day today and he has decided to take it to bed too, its keeping him company while he sleeps. He has been loving sliding shapes into the box or even just dropping them in emptying out the box all over again. he knows his basic shapes, so this has provided him with new vocabulary and a lot more shapes to learn.
