That’s what absolutes are by definition. An essential oil by definition is steam distilled out of plant material using only water. Essential oils of florals like jasmine and rose are insanely labor intensive to produce, each kilo of essential oil requiring something like 600,000 hand picked roses. So no, whatever you are buying from some unknown Chinese vendor for $10 a bottle is not real. There is zero chance. Real rose or jasmine essential oil is going to cost you $100 for a few MILLILITERS, aka like 20 drops from a pipette. Real rose oil is also a semisolid at room temperature, it crystallizes into a gel. Easy way to tell if you’ve got real stuff or not. I can assure you all that 99% of the rose/jasmine/neroli etc essential oil you see out there is fake. It is ALL sold directly into the perfumery industry. Maybe one of the pyramid scheme mlm companies has a plantation somewhere doing it for direct to consumer purposes but if you see “rose essential oil” in a store somewhere, it’s always fake. PS guys- 100% of everything is chemicals. Come on. The purest essential oil on earth is 100% a blend of scary sounding chemicals. Chemicals ARE natural and it makes zero difference if my lab in a building synthesizes them or the little lab in the flower synthesizes them, the end result is the exact same thing.
