It's fair to say that expectations were high with this particular incarnation of the VR viewer, too, as it's both affordable and looks sleek.The build definitely doesn't disappoint, as it's quite sturdily put together; there's a secure, strong-fitting, click-lock door on the front to hold your phone in place, a telescopic rubberised back to fit on the face, and a double-strap securing mechanism to hold the unit steady on your head. It fits pretty comfortably (if a little heavily on the bridge of the nose), and held an iPhone 7 Plus with no problem at all. The whole unit comes neatly squished down, and returns to that small-form size very easily for when you want to throw it into your bag on the go.However, be prepared to fiddle a LOT to get results that won't disappoint. Fortunately, this fiddling is made easier by the inclusion of two optical field sliders above each eye, which change the lens angle. There's definitely a knack to viewing, too, and you almost have to deliberately cross your eyes a little to achieve the 'WOW' depth effect. When you get that, though, it makes the effort all worth it - you start to experience the product as an early step in a series of innovations that could really lead somewhere. It's not *quite* there yet, though.The VR Insane app is full of video links to keep you exploring, and appears to be updated regularly, too. Lots of fun and diverse links are included already, from the scenic (waterfalls) to navy seal operations, Call of Duty style. There's enough variety there to keep you experimenting, despite the fiddly nature of the medium.At the price, you can't really go wrong if you want a taste of VR for yourself and are prepared to mess around a bit for results. It's novel and enticing enough not to be put away in a cupboard *just* yet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Basic insight into the world of VR! *by K***L on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 April 2017* This is the first time I've tried one of these basic VR headsets and I'm fairly impressed. Obviously, it's nothing like the true VR headsets, like the Oculus, HTC Vive, and PS VR etc., but it gives you a basic insight into the world of VR. I've tried a variety of different games and videos, including the VR Insane 360 Video App, which is decent. One app I would recommend downloading is "Titans of Space", which is a simulator that takes you on a journey through the solar system and gives detailed information about each planet (and their moons). Screen quality is generally limited, but it's sufficient, just don't expect HD content or high quality graphics (even when using a QHD phone screen).The headset itself is quite good - It's made of sturdy plastic and feels good quality. The straps fit over my head fine and it feels reasonably comfortable. Both my Oneplus 3 and Samsung Galaxy S7 edge fit fine and are held securely. The two lenses can be independently adjusted, so the image is centered and focussed. The headset arrives with a case, but it's quite awkward to use and can't get the headset in with the straps attached, which is annoying.Overall, This is definitely worth checking out and presents a nice introduction into virtual reality. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very, very comfortable *by C***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 February 2017* I'm still on the lookout for the perfect VR headset, and yet again I've had the opportunity to try one which does so much right, but which is still not quite perfect.Without a doubt this is the most comfortable, and lightest to use headset I've tried. The design is terrific - the whole thing squeezes intro a box roughly the size of a thick paperback. Unfortunately you do have to remove the straps to do this, and I would worry that the top silicone loop in particular might break eventually. I've opted to leave the strap on and only partially close the box - it keeps the worst of the dust off while still remaining quick to deploy.It has adjustment for eye width, but not for focus, although I didn't find this to be much of a problem, but inevitably it comes down to how good or bad your eyes are in the first place, with long sighted people having most difficulties.With a 5" screen my field of view wasn't filled, but I'm okay with that as other headsets can give weird effects when your field of view is filled - again, this comes down to the lenses.So while the actual VR experience isn't top of the line, the comfort is exceptional, which is why I'd give it a 4 out of 5.You can scan a QR code on the side of the packaging to install a VR Insane app which gives the option of either the normal app or a kids version, which is a nice touch. It's of somewhat limited use as you start in the VR Insane app but open the videos with the Youtube app, so thereafter you're looking at the videos Youtube recommends.
