The Eldom SF-82 is an 80 liter boiler that allows you to use wood to heat water for a comfortable shower. You connect the cold water pipe to the supplied mixer tap and at the bottom you burn wood like in a wood stove. By opening the mixer tap you can control the temperature of the water that flows out of the shower head. If you use the water heater indoors, you must fit a suitable flue pipe at the top of the water heater. With this system you can make hot water in places where there is no gas or electricity. It is a brilliant yet simple and cleverly designed bit of equipment. Given its size capacity and how effectively- efficiently it heats water and is yet very controllable for the exact desired water temp to suit individual likes. Once the water is good and hot you can run multiple shower sessions back to back just keep adding logs to keep the hot water going. It is vented through the shower pipe so cant generate dangerous internal presure like a pressure cooker as long as you dont add a tap or stop cock to the shower hose or head! It uses surprisingly little wood to heat up and takes 15-20 mins before the water is ready (assuming quality dry firewood). We are so impressed we recently got a second one for our guest caravan. Can I ignore the shower feature and simply use this to heat my water, then gravity feed into my caravan (for sinks and small bath)?** A: yes **Q: Can it be connected to a garden hose? How long to heat up the 80 litres?** A: Sorry, i did not try out jet. It was delivert with damages (the box outside was totaly fine, the boiler was demaged bevor transport.) I hop i can still fix it during summer. **Q: How is the water pumped out of the shower head? And how is the water tank filled and refilled?** A: This is known as a zero pressure system which is practically unknown of in the UK and also would not comply with UK building regs However The “tap” is on the cold feed, the shower is always open (hence zero pressure) The mains water pressure is used to pump/deliver water to the shower head.
