I was nervous about cutting my face up with this style razor, but as the name implies, it's quite safe and easy to use! I chose this razor because of its style and price and I don't regret it. It's got a satisfying heft, the matte black finish looks handsome and feels nice to the touch. While I didn't notice an enormous difference between the numbered settings, all around, I felt like I was getting a really close and comfortable shave, moreso than I'd ever gotten with disposables. Before purchasing, the butterfly top made me nervous. However, once I got to see/feel how this mechanism works I felt a lot better. The blade feels very secure once the top is closed. The only disappointment I have had with this razor is after the first shave, the razor head got clogged with hair, and there's no easy way to remove it. I kept looking for a latch or some trick to loosen it: swirling it under water, under the faucet, etc. Ultimately I had to get in there with a small pick and manually remove the clumps of hair by hand.
