For a while the Ristretto was the strongest coffee you could get from Nespresso, however in recent years they have expanded their strength scale and added a couple of stronger coffees, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this is an intense coffee. If you are after an intense coffee then this will not disappoint, it is brewed with a thick crema which holds back some of the aroma until you take that first sip and then it hits you, the smell is almost enough to perk you up by itself but once the smooth espresso shot is swallowed, then Hello! you are awake. It is on the upper end of the bitterness scale but only enough to show you that this coffee means business.
