Love it! - First time using this 5N Demi permanent (I use to by the Wella permanent liquid but realized I don’t need it and prefer ammonia free now). So I mixed it with Volume 10 which is all I need (also less damaging than 20 Vol) and it came out super shiny and has great coverage for my grays. I only do my roots, and then comb it through to get that ambré look. Very happy with the result, especially for the price! I’ve searched far and wide for a quality toner/demi that’s affordable. I’ve now cancelled my eSalon ($45) subscription. Note: I have very warm red/orange under tones (also my water makes it so) so ideally I’d prefer an Ash tone. And do I use a full tube in one coloring? (hair not super long).** A: My mother was a hairdresser for 30 years and I have always added twice the amount of Wella Color Charm Cream 20 Volume 32 oz. Developer with the whole bottle of color which is only 1 1/2 oz. You will have about 5 oz. of color. I have short thin hair and it takes just about the whole bottle. I’ve been coloring my roots with these products for decades. When using the 8A that will take care of the orange however 5N will not assist in toning at all and bring you down to a darker level of hair. 8 is going to be blonde. You need to get violet in the formulation to assist with toning out yellow.
