ACCESS - Nothing in front opens - not the glass over the clock face nor the transparent panel down over the pendulum area. All controls are on the back - chime selection, chime loudness, and clock time setting. The pendulum gradually starts by itself. INSTALLATION - The clock comes with a small metal eye loop at the top rear, which I've attached to a sturdy picture hanger to support the clock - nothing else. [ With the clock in place, the eye loop is not visible.] They send you a screw for supplementary attachment somewhere below, but I haven't used it. This way, I can easily lift the clock off-and-on to make adjustments in the back.
