The bees were drilling into my deck and damaging the deck (I kept coming out and finding new piles of sawdust). Little did I know what came next: the bees larvae started attracting woodpeckers who then want to get to the larvae and so they do even more damage to the wood! The woodpeckers will be relentless in their pecking to get to the bees larvae and totally destroy decking posts and any type of wood. They will peck at wood non stop till they get what they want. So it’s not the bees that really destroy your wood - it’s what comes after they bees have tunneled in deep to lay their eggs and then they leave. Then the woodpecker birds come and won’t leave till they get what they want. And by then it’s too late. So you have to stop the carpenter bees before she finishes tunneling. Or if she has finished then you have to kill the larvae yourself (as mean as this sounds). You need to spray this in the hole. Follow the exact instructions. Any suggests on how to kill them?** A: I have tried a lot of sprays for yellow jackets in the ground and this foaming spray seems to be working the best. When I spray with other sprays, the yellow jackets come out of the hole and chase me. This foam has no real odor and the foam quickly seals them in the hole while it is killing them. This keeps them from flying out and coming after me. I just have to watch for the few that are outside the hole and they always seem to be puzzled long enough to make it work safely. I think the low odor helps here. One thing I learned is to shake the can well then spray the solution into the hole for several seconds, filling the hole as much as possible. The foam will then rise up out of the hole and the next day they are gone. Good luck. **Q: Wait is this an aerosol spray or foam?** A: Hi there--Lets see. Its' an aerosol that you put a small straw into the spray opening (included). When you spray it, can spray pretty far, about 5-6-feet and it is like a foam that can get into places the bees go, like under fascia on siding. I bought a few more cans as a backup just in case they decide to come back. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ONLY product that FINALLY KILLED OUR YELLOWJACKET PROBLEM!! *by J***R on 31 October 2024* This is the ONLY thing that FINALLY killed our Yellowjacket problem! My 12 y/o son and I are both very allergic to ALL bees! And we had thousands of Yellowjackets make a nest in between the wood boards and into the ground behind it, right in our parking area next to our front porch! The bees apparently did this while we were on vacation. I got stung 5 times just trying to get into my car twice!!! I had to try to park back farther after that, and walk in a big circle way around that area just to have to try to get near it anyway to get onto our porch to get in the house. We tried 4 different sprays that said they killed Yellowjackets. NONE of those even affected them!! Every single night, my fiancé sprayed the area in between the the wood where the bees came in and out. That way all the bees were in the nest and would get the poison on them. Every single morning, we seen about 50-80 bees dead on the ground in front of the wood! After there was no more bee activity there, my fiancé sprayed the area with clear flex seal to help reseal over it so that the bees couldn’t get back in there.
