You can test sending 9 volts in one direction and retest in the other direction and this will not pass though. use a 12 light bulb (will be dim). one way will work, and the other way will not. They work as intended and they have been in my car for almost a year now and still work great! No problems at all ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent value *by C***S on August 25, 2021* I bought these to safely use my power supply as a 12 volt battery charger (our charger is lost in some packing box somewhere). You usually should not connect a power supply to a battery directly, because some power supplies can be damaged if a voltage is applied to them - hence the need for a diode. I tested all 20 diodes and they all worked fine. I ran my home made charger at up to 2 amps and the diode I used didn't warm up noticeably (there was about a 300 mV drop across the diode, so the power dissipated was less than one Watt).
