Review: Very easy to recommend.. - Very easy plugs to recommend for all hifi installations. Nice finish in gold and robust build quality, good grubs and well aligned to the thread which some plugs far more expensive fail to do. These are open plugs meaning they have no insulation jacket so make sure your amp is switched off before plugging them into your speakers, even with an insulation jacket your amp should be switched off before plugging into your speakers as these are still live cables regardless! These also come at full width on the plug meaning they have to be pushed in with some force the first time so make sure your are doing that with an even force then they just break through and pop in easily after that. I wrapped mine in 4-1 shrink tube for extra protection, see photo.

**Q: What is the outside diameter of the barrels?**
A: OD of barrel is 5/16”
Overall length of banana plug is 1-3/4”
These are great plugs!! I particularly like the two set screws, they make a solid connection with the wire.

**Q: I am trying to plug these into my speakers and receivers.  it's seems like the tip is too thick.  they won't go in.  am i doing something wrong?**
A: The KabelDirekt banana plugs are slightly larger in diameter than most; having said that, they need a bit more force to insert them, but are more snug once in place, and provide a really secure electrical contact with the female socket.  Make sure that the screws securing the wire in place are at least level with the exterior of the barrel.  Hope this helps.

**Q: Upon ordering i thought i saw an infographic on attaching the wire but can't find that now. do i fold wire over so it is doubled for best connection?**
A: If you use 11-16 gauge wire (with the requisite length of outer plastic covering stripped), there's no need to double up on the wire before insertion into the banana plug,  I've actually used wire of 10 and 14 gauge  with these plugs, and the screws make a really strong connection--secured beautifully.  A sturdy screwdricer with a 1/8" flat blade should allow more than adequate tightening pressure to be applied.

**Q: These are already the most expensive banana plug for some unknown reason.  Why the enormous price bump to $26+ per set?**
A: It's $26 for 10 pair, that's only $2.60 each for high quality, 24KT plated banana plugs. You can also buy the 5 pair for only $17. The price is very reasonable.

Very easy plugs to recommend for all hifi installations. Nice finish in gold and robust build quality, good grubs and well aligned to the thread which some plugs far more expensive fail to do. These are open plugs meaning they have no insulation jacket so make sure your amp is switched off before plugging them into your speakers, even with an insulation jacket your amp should be switched off before plugging into your speakers as these are still live cables regardless! These also come at full width on the plug meaning they have to be pushed in with some force the first time so make sure your are doing that with an even force then they just break through and pop in easily after that. I wrapped mine in 4-1 shrink tube for extra protection, see photo.
