I just let all the parts soak in hot water and about a teaspoon or two of the powder. Then, all the buildup and stains came off—with barely any scrubbing. It’s now spotless, and I would say I am speechless but I am writing this review. It was totally black inside from 10 years of coffee and it’s totally gone now. Just perfectly clean stainless steel. The build up came off in sheets (it was disturbing.) Worked on my thermos too and all the parts. I am going to do some of my to-go mugs next. I don’t have a picture of the contents of the carafe when I poured it out, but let me tell you it was many times darker than any coffee ever produced from this machine. Pictured in the bowl was just what came off the small stopper for the carafe. I had already cleaned it multiple times with soap and a sponge. Still had coffee stains. Then I let it soak in this solution and all the stains came off. It’s like I have a brand new pot! The coffee is also tasting amazing this morning! Review: Works like a charm - My travel coffee tumblers are like new inside again. Coffee stains are gone, baby. Works fast. The container will last a lifetime in your home kitchen, so that's good. Is it safe for tassimo?** A: NO, this is a kind of STRONG SOAP, specially designed to clean coffee oils. This is NOT a DESCALER. Never use this in the water reservoir. It's used to Clear all parts that come in contact with coffee oils and to do backflushes in 3-way valve operated espresso machines. Try Dezcal to do it. Or look around for instructions on how to use vinegar or citric acid to do so, if you want to "go wild" when removing CALCIUM from you machine. SOAP does NOT remove calcium, OK?
