The black vinyl-type lining they provide to block the sun's rays makes this umbrella a little more fragile than a regular umbrella you would use in a rain storm. Let's face it, this vinyl-type plastic lining could tear easily simply because of what it's made of, as opposed to an umbrella made of 100% sturdy fabric, but I was purposely looking for a sun blocker--a parasol, if you will--to keep the sun off me and at outdoor event. I did not buy this for rain. My regular rain umbrella can take a beating from heavy rain, wind, and being tossed around in the backseat of my car for months on end, but this Singring umbrella is something you'll want to take care of and treasure. The fabric is gorgeous, it opens and closes easily, and once opened fully, the size provides enough coverage from side to side to keep my shoulders from being sunburned. It's a parasol in the true sense of the word. Yes, as others have said, the case it comes with is somewhat small, which makes it difficult to put the umbrella in once you have already taken it out. But how many people actually put an umbrella back in the case after using it? .....exactly! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful pain! *by S***E on September 10, 2016* It's beautiful and sturdy. But it's a pain to open and close. It takes a little muscle to push it open and then The release button just makes it so you can try to wrangle up the sides and squish them in. The outer edge of the umbrella folds out, which does nothing for ease. I have to use an umbrella to stay out of the sun, on a daily basis, due to radiation therapy. I miss my cheap crap umbrella that was ugly but the same button opened and closed it.I will keep this one because it is so lovely and seems sturdy, but I don't know how long I will put up with it.Pictured here with my 9 year old son. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I like it *by T***! on May 6, 2017* Not heavy. Good cover. Pretty. Not five stars because it was almost impossible to put the parasol back into its matching sleeve.
