A: Less than a quarter of an inch.  Could be thicker.  I use it as padding between the side of my foot and my shoe due to recovery from foot surgery.  Sometimes I use 2 pieces

A: The prospective customer of this type of product has asked a good question. In checking "google" we find that all three types of foam share basic similarities.
