Used this to make candles. Never gave me an issue and heats up very quickly. Just make sure to not put it too hot or it will smoke a little. Easy to clean as well just warm it up again and wipe it clean.

I loved this candle-making starter kit. Both the wax and all the materials are high quality and durable. Everything in the kit is great. The only thing is that the hot plate is quite small, but for beginners, it gets the job done. I highly recommend this product.
