## Description

Bertie's Trinidad Original Pepper Sauce is one of the four famous pepper sauces produced by their family owned factory. The idea was to have a pepper sauce for everyone's taste threshold. Add some more heat with the "ORIGINAL" Bertie's pepper sauce is what launched the business and is still the most purchased variety in Trinidad. Delightfully blending the yellow Scotch Bonnet that has been sun ripened and adding our Trinidad created Moruga Red Pepper. This is the stuff of legends and is what has made Bertie's famous all over.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is Bertie's Original too hot for me?**
A: Not necessarily. The Original balances Scotch Bonnet and Moruga Red flavor with real heat. Start with a small amount in stews, soups, or gravies for authentic Caribbean flavor.

**Q: How long does Bertie's Original stay fresh?**
A: At room temperature, it stays fresh for up to 6 months. Refrigerate after opening and it keeps for up to 18 months. The bottle is shelf-stable right out of the box.

**Q: Is the 10 oz bottle enough?**
A: A little goes a long way. At 10 oz / 300 ml, one bottle delivers many servings — a few drops season a whole pot of stew or a full batch of wings.

**Q: Is Bertie's Original gluten free?**
A: Yes. Bertie's Original contains no gluten. The ingredients are fresh Trinidad hot peppers, vinegar, mustard, garlic, salt, Chadon Beni, and sodium benzoate — nothing more.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The finest
*by M***E on 6 July 2026*

I love chillies! I have grown my own chillies for many years. Pickled chillies, and created great chilli sauces. I have literally tried dozens of chilli sauces, and this one is hands down the most delicious one yet. It is made with habanero peppers, so it has plenty of heat, and the characteristic fruity flavour of these chillies is truly delicious. I would suggest food to accompany with Bertie's chilli sauce, but it goes with everything magnificently....except perhaps tea!!
