    A great, inexpensive little device!

I've been holding off on getting a cycling computer for way too long - primarily because I wanted something in between a basic cheap speedometer and an expensive computer with sophisticated navigation. This little device is, for me, the perfect middle ground!I was able to get the computer synced with my Android phone over Bluetooth fairly easily, and with a bit of help from the online version of the user's manual, got it set to display the information I want to see while riding and automatically sync with Strava. The speedometer, distance, and elevation gain are all pretty darn accurate (compared to my friends with the expensive GPS units). I'm especially happy that the device shows gradient percentages - super helpful when plowing up a nasty hill! The battery also seems to be pretty good; I could probably do a double century on this thing and still have juice left. The only fussy aspect, so far, is the altitude calibration, which gets a bit out of whack each time I power the device back on. Fortunately, it's easy enough to recalibrate using the smartphone app. The temperature readout only displays in Celsius, though it converts back to Fahrenheit when uploaded (e.g. to Strava). I'm fine with Celsius, but it could be a potential problem for some.UPDATE: Thanks to a firmware update a while back, the computer now displays temperature in Fahrenheit.UPDATE, Oct. 2019: After a year and a half, this device is still going strong. I've dropped it on the floor multiple times and taken it on rides in the rain, snow, and as low as -5F. I also started using a HRM with it; all good there. In that time, it has lost only one ride (corrupted file, though the data uploaded to Bryton Active). The three complaints I have at this time are (1) there is no manual pause/resume feature, which would be nice for pit stops in locations where it's not safe to leave the computer on the bike; (2) the calorie calculations seem really off when uploaded to Strava, but only without a heart rate monitor; and (3) altitude still requires manual calibration at the start of a ride.Still, a good value. I've gotten ~8,000 miles out of this cheap computer so far.

    Decent for My Needs

So I bought this as a certified used/returned item. Being as such mine came with no instructions. A quick search for "Ryder 10 PDF" and I was able to track down the instructions.Mine did come with some extra tough rubber bands and the mounting unit. It took some doing but I was able to get it attached to my stem. Wouldn't fit on my bars due to my bar tape. I spent one weekend with the unit in this position and quickly realized it wasn't going to work here. I could only see it when I was sitting tall. Which on a road bike is a position I don't normally spend much time in.So I went in search of a front bar mount. Finding Brytons own bar mount for just over 25$ was a no go for me. As I mentioned earlier I got this used and I wasn't about to spend more than half of the cash I spent on the GPS for a mount. Doing my search for an alternative I noticed that the Garmin mounting style looked very similar to me. So I decided to chance it not fitting and ordered the Veleo mount. I think it was like 12$. Upon arrival I was pleasantly surprised to find out the Bryton fit into the Garmin style mount snugly with no movement issues at all. Now I can see the GPS even when in the aero position. Now the Bryton app= The app was was easy enough to find at the Play Store. It linked up with my Strava account without issue. However I do frequently have issues with the app connecting to it's own server. Very frustrating when you want to see your stats right away.Being able to customize the layout is is cool at first. But you are only allowed certain things on certain screens. Meaning it's not very custom when I can't have it exactly the way I want. The unit= I like having the gradient displayed. Not that I can't feel the hill. But it's nice to have a visual. It does seem to be several seconds behind the actual start of the hill. But not enough to be useless. I'm sure you also know by now that this GPS is only stats, no map. MPH, ride time, temp ect and even see incoming texts/emails are some of the functions here. I don't use the last one. opting for solitude instead. The app however does let you see your course when you upload to the app. All in all I like it. I spent 40$ on the unit and 12 on the mount for a total of 52$. Not bad for the accuracy of having a GPS unit. And a big monetary difference from some of the other base model GPS available. I would recommend this to a friend.I took some pictures of the mounts I used. I do apologize for there poor quality. But my good camera isn't currently working. As always I hope this helps, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

    Good enough

For what it is, I think anyone would be happy. It isn’t the most intuitive design so watch the YouTube how to videos. For basic info that most avid cyclist need! I say need as most cyclists spend too much time worrying about numbers! I found that, as I will never be a pro... power isn’t important, I don’t need a map with turn by turn directions ( I have a smartphone!) and why get a $300 computer when I can spend that money on components that allow me to ride or on gas for a trip to a place I don’t get to ride often.Good head unit that will give you a bit more than some others with the flexibility to connect via Bluetooth and save some money. I spent my saved cash on trip to the Sierra Nevada mountains to get in some epic climbing and break away from the rat race.
