Review: Works As Described - An accurate frequency counter at this price point gets 5 stars. It consistently nails the frequency within .001 MHz, and accurately determines tones. The DMR functionality also performs as expected. UI & manual are not the greatest, and it doesn't hold the last frequency on the display; but for the price - it's great. I notice other reviewers having issues with it ceasing to function, and I suspect many have just overloaded the unit and damaged it. Do not put the transmitter right next to the counter, I keep them close to arms length on either side of me and it reads just fine.

The SF-103 is geared towards ham radio operators, to allow them to verify that their radio is programmed correctly. For analog, it will show transmit frequency; and if repeater access tones (CTCSS/PL/DCS) are being used, what is being transmitted. For digital transmissions, it will display transmit frequency (although I wish it would also show DMR color code/timeslot - maybe in a future update). The wide 2 MHz-2.8 GHz range means that it will also work in the HF bands for measuring frequency and relative signal strength. The user manual is somewhat lacking and in poor English, but the unit is relatively easy to figure out.

**Q: how many digits resolution will it show when measuring on the 2m and 70cm bands?**
A: I believe 7 digits, 3 to last of decimal, 4 to right I e 454.6275

**Q: can this be used to set up cellular antenna direction?**
A: Cannot

**Q: How do you calibrate it?**
A: Three electrical Engineers never were able to even get it to work so the calibration issue was never addressed!

**Q: How can I keep the frequency information on the screen longer?**
A: It should hold it. Until you start a new scan. You have to stop it. Unless your in an area with multiple rf that's being pick up. That gets annoying.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very pleased with it; one suggestion

This freq counter is powered by a small Li-ion battery that is inside to case. You must removed the four screws holding the case together then four screws holding a plate on top of the battery. On top of the case is a USB-C connector and the freq counter comes with a small cube power supply plus a short cable connecting the power supply to the USB-C connector. CHARGE THE BATTERY FROM TIME TO TIME -- plug in the power cube, connect the power cube to the freq counter with the supplied cable. A small LED on top of the freq counter will glow red then turn green when the battery is fully charged. I let the battery run down and had to wait six hours for it to recharge. Good freq counter. I am a ham radio operator and use this to check frequency and CTCSS tones on my various radios.
