Although I do some quilting, quilts do not comprise the majority of my sewing. These clips are certainly handy for quilting but I find myself using them frequently for other sewing projects as well. My son has recently begun learning to sew. Shortly into his current sewing project, a fleece lined jacket, he mentioned that he could really use some of "those little clips" that he has seen me use on occasion. I ordered this set for myself and will give my son my old ones. These clips are just as pictured and described. The various sizes are handy for different projects and the storage can is a nice extra. They make sewing slippery fabric so much easier because you don't have to worry about your pins sliding out or your fabric distorting. These are a must for sewing materials like leather, faux leather, vinyl, or anything else that pinning would leave permanent holes in. Clips like these are normally fairly expensive, so to get this many, in an assortment of sizes, at this price is a great value. The quality is surprisingly good and they're very strong. I use these everytime I sew. It holds well and are easy to remove when sewing and they dont leave a hole in the fabric. I find that they give me a better hold than using pins as well. They dont disturb the fabric placement like when you pound in either.
