The first game I played with it, I sunk four balls in a row - as much as I'd like to chalk that up to beginner's luck or just luck in general, I feel that the quality McDermott cue made a big difference. The only downsides to the McDermott Lucky L69 are the lack of wrapping or grip on the rear end (though this doesn't impair my performance with it), the lack of a quick-separation system such as Uni-Loc (the joint is threaded through its full length, making assembling the cue slightly tedious), and the quality of the soft case it shipped with (the zipper broke off the moment I tried to open it).
