This book changed my life. I know that sounds dramatic, but it's true. Following the lamrim meditations and taking them to heart will transform you. Venerable Thubten Chodron has written many books (one of her primary teachers is His Holiness the Dalai Lama), and I cannot recommend them highly enough. She is an amazing teacher and is especially adept at explaining abstract Buddhist concepts for a Western reader. This is the first book of hers that I read, and it has led me on my path to becoming a better human being. Her book Open Heart, Clear Mind is also transformative.
