I'll have 40 in all. Will this tool last?** A: Yes it will last. Just dont hit against a hard wood. I recommend using a thick book or magazine on top of the wooden surface so the tool pierces the pages of the book and it keeps everything nice and flat. Soft wood tends to push the fabric into the wood, hard wood tends to just leave a dent. **Q: Can you use this machine and fasteners on terapulin fabric** A: There are soo many different thickness and fabric in the phrase tarpaulin. One has 4 dents is it placed facing o** A: The cutter is simply to cut holes. This tool will punch the holes in your canvas in the shape of the tunrbutton eyelet to make fitting the eyelets a simple task. A nifty little idea is to have a magazine under your canvas, some people use a block of wood but I find placing a magazine like a TV times or similar between the wood and canvas helps. Then place the tool in the area you want to cut the hole and strike with a hammer Then once your hole is cut you insert the eyelet through the canvas holes and into the plate on the other side. On the washer you will see the groves the 4 prongs rest against. You can bend the prongs with a screwdriver or the handle of the tool.
