It has NO memory. Sometimes you need to adjust the pads to get them in the right spot and you dont want to do that when they are firing. You cant pause this one so your only option really is to pull the cable from the unit to move them. Once you do it resets as if you just turned it on...so a pause button would solve that...OR if it would just hold its last setting on power off. The dial to adjust power is not great, it sucks in fact. You have to turn it pretty much a full rotation to get it to make the next incremental move and since you have to do this EVERY time you make any change or power the unit on its annoying. Cycle through the modes to find one you like? Resets to zero power each time.
