The output impedance of a typical audio amplifier is of the order of 0.1 ohm or even less (that less than a tenth of an ohm typically). It is the nominal LOAD impedance that the manufacturer might suggest to be 4 ohms or 8 ohms or whatever. Please recognize that no practical loudspeaker has a constant impedance that can be defined by any single number whether 4 or 8 or anything. The magnitude of the impedance can (and also the phase angle) vary drastically with frequency and so talk about loudspeakers being 4 or 8 ohm is strictly nominal. This Q and A about 'output impedance' being '8 ohms' is rubbish. Do better. **Q: How can I use headphones with this amp** A: No headphones connection on this amplifier, but none the less a great amplifier for the price. **Q: Ive just bought a Audio Technica Lp 60. So electrically it will be easy to connect to an 8 ohm load. (There is no headphone socket on this model. That caught me out.)For a clean and simple amplifier it was a noticeable improvement on what it replaced. It is a good sound.But "Large floorstanding" suggests a large floor in a large room ? It's a resonably solid 20Watts; that is enough to general listening levels. And if you put that across any decent 10" bass driver or a stack of 6.5"; you will quickly get to meet the neighbours. But if you intend to try "brusing your rib cage" volume in a barn then you will need to aim a couple of units up the range for power.I am very pleased with mine. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Good Amp *by S***R on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 June 2014* This is an excellent amp for my purposes - I only use the Aux input (for my mixer) and occasionally use the MP3 input on the front - it's plenty loud enough for a converted free-standing single garage.The sound quality is perfectly acceptable for my vinyl and MP3s and the ability to listen to both without too much messing around was probably the main reason for the purchase as a front MP3 input is still quite a rare feature on amps in this price range.I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to anyone looking for a reasonably-priced amp to fill a medium sized room. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good Cambridge work *by M***G on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 August 2015* Very good sound handling, the pin ups are limited somewhat as they do not accept plug in speaker cable and I am reluctant to fix with cut ends so use recorder system output, I think I need a decent CD player but for now it runs off DVD, in any case I use headphones and speakers which I can switch off for other people's comfort when the next cable component is delivered.
