Review: Heater to give great pleasure on a nasty cold day and make you feel warm without question! - Absolutely perfect but you need a very long Philips screwdriver to screw legs on. They are extremely difficult to reach and a pair of strong hands are necessary. Afterwards you will find this heater delightful, quiet, beautiful flame pattern. I have an older model with a lousy switch for temperature control that goes on & off about 5 times before it actually turns off the heat. This one has a much better electronic switch that works the way it should. I am running it all day in a large family room in a cold time in Central West Florida. It is heating at the 1500 or high watt lever for about 30 minutes, then turned down to 1000 and it keeps my large area at about 70 degrees and is off more than on. I find this device well made, beautiful looking. It also has open side large vents and the fire looks absolutely real with flams from anywhere! The fire itself is as bright as you could want it, and is also adjustable with a high quality control like the thermostat uses. The switches light up so you know which mode is on and the device that scrolls for flame is quiet and unheard with no squeaking or rolling sounds. It is almost impossible to hear the fan blowing and is extremely quiet even only 6 feet away. This will be a good heater for the large area I use daily and the older one will be places in the master bedroom. I also told my boss at work and he will buy 2 of these; one for his office and 1 for mine. At 36 degrees outside you will never know it in this home and I am very happy with Duraflame design. They are a good company and their subsidiary follows there rules perfectly. This is a great unit. Case closed! Ray C

Absolutely perfect but you need a very long Philips screwdriver to screw legs on. They are extremely difficult to reach and a pair of strong hands are necessary. Kicks out some heat, looks pretty realistic and easy to set up. It's quiet and is very aesthetically pleasing all the way around. It doesn't take up much room. Perfect. Day one and it gets 5 stars so far. It's cute, its quiet, the flame effect is convincing, you can run it at 2 heat levels, with or without flame or run it with no heat and just the flame. The flame and the heat both have a dial to control intensity. In about 20 minutes it heated up about 700 sq ft to a comfortable level. It's in the 50s here. Thumbs up. The pkg was good resulting in no damage and it arrived a full week before it was scheduled to get here. Really pleased. Seems primarily constructed of thin sheet metal. It's cool to the touch unless you stick your finger right in the element. Good for kids. It a little on the small side (which I wanted for a small apartment) but be aware of the dimensions. I bought this to replace a similar (about 50% larger) one I had that lasted 12 years. I looked at a lot of them on Amazon and in person at Walmart and Home Depot. I paid $83 for it and me, Jack the Doxie and my 6yo granddaughter like it so far. We're really happy with it on day one.
