I scratched it in the corner with my car keys only as a test (wouldn't recommend) and the texture does a pretty good job of masking any scratches. The stitching of the zipfolio seems sturdy with no signs of concern for tearing or fraying. The zipper itself is also sturdy and of much better quality than any other zip up binder I've used. When opened, the covers make a crackling sound if warped or bent too much. I don't see this as a concern unless you have kids that might mishandle it in this fashion. Whatever the material is, although seemingly brittle when bent or warped, seems durable enough to protect your cards well should something heavy fall onto the binder. The pages themselves are also made of a textured plastic with the polypropylene heat-pressed on in a sort of stitch style fashion. The pages are bound to the spine by what appears to be a heat press and actual stitching combination. Cards are side loaded from the center, which is really great. I never have to worry about cards falling out even if it's unzipped. I do recommend sleeving your cards before putting them in here to prevent excessive sliding. I was reluctant to get this as there were no reviews at the time of my purchase. So far I've had no problems with mine. All in all, I'm very satisfied with this product.
