For single use *by P***Y on Reviewed in the United States on September 9, 2019* They work. I feel like I should stick to the fact that these work and leave it at that.But.I'd be remiss to let.you in on the fact that I am a complete moron and didnt need this product at all.The assumption in needing this product is that one has a ton of 1/4" male to male cables. This adapter will snap on either end of that cable and, voila! You've got a MALE 1/4" to FEMALE XLR cable! Heck, you could snap another adapter at the opposite 1/4" end and have a full fledged XLR mic cable.But that's not how you're supposed to go about this. I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.... but....Every time an adapter is plugged in, or a different end is soldered on to a cable end, or a cable end is chopped off and retro fitted for some either ancient or altogether new and futuristic connection for audio, video, data, or raw electricity- the signal quality diminishes. The further the signal travels, and the more soldered and different types of conducting materials the signal flows through will change (diminish the clarity of) the sound.Adapters are great. I have a thousand of them and use them all the time. Time saver. Money saver. Space saver. Just not made for high end A/V. If you want to rock your $6,750 state of the art turntable through your custom tube amplifier, state of the art power conditioner- featuring a ground connection 75 feet below bedrock, wired to North America's only pure Iron Vein in the Rockies- more power to ya.If you're throwing the same dozen 1976 classic rock albums that have innumerable pops, hisses, tack bleeds and drop outs- and you know them by heart (!,) then.... so what? It comes back to you like what you like. Some people listen to mono FM radio ten hours a day at work. This is beyond me- as my psyche would crack in two and leak molten lava down my face. But a lot of people.... ugh.... like it. Jesus. The adapters "pass." Most people would never notice while listening to normal playback of a dramatic movie or action TV series. Serious, trained "audiophiles" can tell. These people can pick out small ranges of frequencies that have been boosted or diminished purposefully. And that's serious buisness- as in fraud.Most likely the manufacturing side will play dumb and offer to fix it immediately. Perhaps in time to roll out a new and improved line of climate friendly products for us all to marvel over? Let's just hope they don't turn into bloodthirsty gore monsters once we get them home.Important here is that you do not NEED to buy these if you have 1/4" - XLR. If you need to use this connection once... or for like a day, go for the adapters. As long as this isn't some final exam your degree depends on, these are fine for a single use.
