Review: Does Exactly What it Says - Used this product on my convertible Mini One, and I have to say I was very impressed. Easy to apply - you just brush it on with a paintbrush - it's fairly idiot-proof, which is handy for someone with my skill at car maintenance. I'd bought the car secondhand a few months ago, and the soft top was always a little faded and worn. This brought it back to almost-good-as-new condition in just two coats. Some tips: 1. The instructions on the bottle warns you not to get it on the paintwork. You are 100% going to get it on the paintwork! The liquid has the consistency of inky water, so even the slightest breeze will cause it to splash. But don't panic, just keep a damp cloth handy as you apply and wipe off spillages . (It doesn't seem to damage the paintwork, the smaller splashes in particular are just much harder to remove once they're dry). 2. You probably need more product than you think. The material on mine drank it up and I easily used two whole bottles on not quite two coats for a small convertible. 3. Each coat took about 40 minutes. The ideal day to do it would be overcast with little chance of rain, because heavy sun might cause the dye to dry unevenly. However, it dries very fast, so I found it was OK to put the cover back on about an hour after I finished. All in all, a bit of patience and the top looks good as new!
Review: Good stuff - Excellent! I used white vinegar and water to remove mold effectively. After applying this the soft top looked like new (only one coat). I've applied the Protex waterproof solution now and will review that product in six months after I have tested the effectiveness. What I will say is that it went on easily.

Used after Protex Canvas Cleaner, colour restoring your top is the second stage in the Protex soft top restoration process.
- COVERAGE & PREPARATION - It is recommended that approximately 1Ltr. of product is sufficient to restore a top for a 4 seater car. It is best to apply the product in cool/overcast conditions so that drying time is not too fast and to avoid causing an uneven finish.
- APPLICATION STEP 1 - Shake the bottle well and decant sufficient product into a separate container to apply to the soft top. Then start at the centre and work outwards apply the restorer quickly and evenly with a clean paint brush taking care not to spill any onto the vehicles paintwork.
- APPLICATION STEP 2 - Leave for 3 hours to allow the restorer to dry and if required recoat and again allow 3 hours drying time. Do not expose to moisture until the restorer has completely dried.
- FOLLOW UP - It is recommended that the canvas is then sealed and protected using Protex Canvas Waterproofer.

**Q: does the product have uneven brush strokes since they recommend using a paint brush? I.E. dark and light spots?**
A: No uneven brush strokes or dark & light spots. Clean the top well, then tape off everything except the canvas top with plastic sheeting (could use newspaper). I applied two full coats of the black Protex World Convertible canvas restorer. First apply one coat - eight hours between - apply next coat. Next same thing with the Protex waterproof product 2-Coats dry eight hours or overnight between. My 2005 Audi TT Roadster needed two full coats of each product (= 1 liter or two 500ml). Finished product ROCKS!! New Hampshire USA endorses Protex World canvas restoral products!

**Q: I wish to treat a beige/cream color ragtop and change it to black, will this effectively do that?**
A: The product will not help turn beige to black.  It will turn a dull black to a refreshed shiny black.

**Q: How long does this product last? I don’t expect this product to last for 20 years but 3 months said one review. Really?**
A: It will last a lot longer if the Waterproofer is applied every six months. Most customer apply the Restorer every couple of years.

**Q: Can i use it on a burgundy soft top?**
A: Only if burgundy is an offered color….I use this on my black top and it looks wonderful….
