This means the light shines from dusk to dawn and brightens considerably for 60 seconds when motion is detected. I'd anticipated a light that stays off unless there is motion in the area, and didn't realize it would be illuminated all night (as is common for solar-operated lights).The biggest problem for me is that the battery and light are in fixed position to each other, which means the light MUST point the same way as the battery points.
