If fact, it’s better than homemade pesto’s I had. There is no bitterness. I use it for many things —warm pasta, cold pasta salad, as a sandwich spread, and even as a green salad dressing thinned with a little water. It does not contain garlic or cheese, so the basil really comes through, and if like me, you cannot or choose not to eat dairy, this is perfect. The Whole Foods near me in Seattle stopped carrying it, so I’m delighted I can still get it from Amazon.However, the first time I ordered, one of the lids came loose in transit and leaked. I ordered three and they were shipped by Amazon in a box with a piece of packing paper, which did nothing to protect the jars. Amazon replaced it immediately.
