Heavy duty brackets** A: These brackets are strong and they are well made. They can certainly hold a glass shelf however I think they weren't intending to say you could attach a glass shelf....the metal is thick enough to carry the weight of glass but it would be gravity that would be holding the glass in place....IMHO. **Q: Can you tell me how much weight they can hold?** A: Not really. Normally they are used to hold wood sides together, as if you were making a box. If you intend to use this to support a shelf, that depends on the length of the screws and if they are into a solid wood backing and not just to drywall. It also depends on how many braces you use and where you put the weight. The closer to the edge the more likely it will bend; closer to the wall the better. If you do intend to use it to support a shelf, you would do better to buy a regular shelf support. They are usually sized on what width shelf you want to support. A ten inch wide shelf board, for instance, may need about an eight inch long brace. The braces usually have a diagonal piece to help transfer the load. **Q: The manufacturer should know how much weight these can support without sagging. Do they?** A: I can't give you a direct answer to the question, because I don't know what the manufacturer's specifications are. What I can tell you is that I have two types of the L-shaped 15 1/2" braces. One has a 3/32" thick diagonal brace, and the other has a 1/8" thick diagonal brace. (I'm not sure which is the Deezio). The one with the 3/32" thick diagonal brace warps, therefore sags, and is not as strong as the one with the 1/8" thick diagonal brace. Buy the one that has the 1/8" brace. It's plenty strong enough for reasonable loads. I also installed longer and thicker anchor bolts then recommended. **Q: What grade of stainless steel are these?** A: Not sure they just say high quality. Seemed like a 304 but they did seem high quality.
