The Futronic FS80 USB2.0 Optical Fingerprint Scanner is a compact, high-performance device designed for seamless integration into any professional setting. ## Description

Futronic's FS80 USB2.0 Fingerprint Scanner uses advanced CMOS sensor technology and precise optical system to deliver high quality fingerprint image. It can capture an almost un-distorted raw fingerprint image into PC in 100ms and is good for any fingerprint recognition application. The finger scanning window is a crown glass with a thickness of 14mm. It is much more reliable and robust compared to any semiconductor type fingerprint sensor. The finger is illuminated by 4 infra-red LEDs during scanning and the light intensity is automatically adjusted according to scanning fingerprint's characteristics (wet, dry, blurred, etc) to optimize the quality of the captured fingerprint image. Special electronic circuit is built into FS80 to do Live Finger Detection (LFD). With appropriate software in PC, user can select this LFD feature so that only live finger's fingerprint will be scanned into PC. Fake fingers made from silicone rubber, play-doh, etc, will be rejected. And the LFD feature is included in all Futronic's standard software. PLEASE NOTE: The Fingerprint reader does not come with any software, but will work in-line with Futronic Finlogon Personal Edition (PE), third party software and there are SDK's available (Software Developers Kits). The majority of which are FOC but some do carry a charge.

**Q: Will this work with Mac computer?**
A: We have 27 of them inuse but none are hooked to a mac. The work excellent as long as they are strong sunlight.

**Q: Can I use this to. Do a live scan fingerprint and save it on a computer? Or is this just a fingerprint reader**
A: Hi Tiffany, you can download the driver to your computer and save the print from the scanner - it's very easy.  Ruth

**Q: Will Futronic FS80  works
 on Win 8.1?**
A: No it doesn't work right away, and I didn't bother trying more. Used Win 7 instead.
