I'm not much of gluten free/cage free/GMO free/vegan/pescatarian kind of guy, so I ị wasn't excited to see the gluten-free stamped in the front. In fact.... I'm pretty fat. I love my food and I love it all. I was referred to this brand by a friend. It was something new for me but frequently eaten by him. So I thought... What the heck, lemme just order the dang pie! So here's my review:*shipping- fast and packaged awesome. How can you package pies, in a cardboard box, wrong. right?*Sweetness- OK they got it down! Their pies aren't super sweet like most freezer pies that I have eaten. These pies have a nice sweet tone which allow you to truly taste the filling, properly, without getting a scratchy tongue. You know what I mean, right? The sweet potato pie had a great touch of cinnamon.*Portion: They came in, in a very very "cute" size. Pie sliders I thought of. I ate through 1 pie rather quickly.. In my defense, they are sized smaller than your average pie. This is a great thing, if you ask me. Especially since I ordered the mix, sampler pack. I got to catch them all ::Pokémon style::*Texture: Not clumpy and runny! 2 thumbs up for the consistency of the filling and crust. I was shocked that the crust didn't instantly snap like a cracker. This pie tastes great, and the Hearthy bakers really got the texture of the crust right, which is always a struggle with gluten-free baked goods. The filling is a bit chewy, like the other reviewer noted, but I think this is a side effect of the microwave process--I plan to experiment to see if I can heat it without overcooking it based on my microwave's wattage.The only reason I gave this product four stars is because I only received six pies when I was under the impression that I had ordered a dozen. I looked at the product description to see if I was mistaken and couldn't find anything anywhere that said how many pies they sent for the $24! (unless i missed it?).
