Review: Exceeded my expectations! - We have a Goffin's 2 that is hyper-vigilant. He will preen like crazy at all different times and ends up barbering feathers. In a one week stint, he pretty much barbered every feather, including his tail. He looked like a chicken. We have followed the directions for spritzing and in his water, and the results are remarkable. There was a noticeable difference literally within a week. We are continuing the treatments, but Bandit is improving with new feathers coming in and NOT being barbered. We will be buying the larger size to continue his treatments, but so far so good! Everything is as promised, and of course, desertcart was a champ getting it to me quickly and well-packed. For those that will ask, yes... Bandit has been in to an avian vet several times for this issue and has his yearly tests run. Nothing was amiss with his health, and nothing in the house or cage was off. We have a second Goffin that is thriving.... same age and sex, same cage, same toys. Even the vet was throwing up her hands. She's happy with the results as well!
Review: I am amazed - My cockatoo started feather picking 29 years ago! After she plucked out all her chest feathers, she mutilated her chest. She had 2 surgeries to close these sores. The vets said there was no more skin to pull across for a third surgery if she ever needed it. So she went into all sorts of collars and sock coverings, and little jackets, wrappings of all sorts, plastic shields... all to keep her from her chest. She still picked feathers in places she could get to, like pulling out her tail or wing feathers, or making one leg bald, but she was safe from seriously wounding herself. I felt sorry for her in these wrappings and wanted so badly for her to be able to have them off. I have tried everything to get her to stop plucking - food additives and supplements. I took her to a famous avian vet who said add more veggies, and I did. I bought her a huge cage and all sorts of things in there that she likes to chew. But she never stopped going for her feathers. I decided to try this Pluck No More. But I had low/no expectations. I didn't put it in her water. I put it in a little spray bottle at half strength mixed with water. This bird thinks spraying water in her direction is a punishment, but she was enjoying this spray. I've been doing it daily for several months (several bottles - pricey!) - and saw her feathers were looking better. Sometimes I took her out of the plastic shield, while I supervised her for a few minutes, so she could preen a little. Put her back in her cage yesterday and went out for a couple hours. When I got home, I saw that I had forgotten to put the shield back on! But, I looked, and there was not a single feather or piece of one on the bottom of her cage. She didn't pluck them! She was calm and happy looking. I decided to give her a chance, and I have left the shield off. It's been off nearly 2 days and she's doing so well! It's risky. It wouldn't take her long to make another hole in her chest. But she is so calm, vocalizing and chewing the cage toys approrpriately that I really think she's going to make it. After all these years, all the attempts to shield her from herself, all the failures, this is like a miracle. I am a psychology researcher, no connection to this company. I am just so happy that I thought I should write and tell you to at least try this product. Keep at it for several months, and then if you see the feathers looking better, see if the picking will stop.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: One review said the instructions say not to feed fresh friuts while using this product, my conure demands fruit daily, for years. Can you tell me why fruit is not reccomended during use of this product? Thank you**
A: I do not know, but it does say in the paperwork no fresh fruit. It also says only bottled water. For some reason my cockatoo prefers tap water and gets fresh fruit and veggies daily. You can call them. In fact you can order directly from them. 1-866-777-7303. This product, as expensive as it is, has worked wonders for my bird.

**Q: I have used two bottles (putting it in water and spraying) for my congo african grey. Still plucking,
Any other products you'd suggest**
A: Its recommended to use it a minimum of 4 months.I have now used it for 2 months and do indeed see a difference. My moluccan female breaks her feathers and I see a serious decrease in that, she looks much better . I am very consistent in replacing clean water with pluck no more. There is a video on the product at Kings cages, should check it out.I will tell you more later.

**Q: I have used two bottles (putting it in water and spraying) for my congo african grey. ?? what about "featherific" instead?**
A: I tried both products on my umbrella cockatoo and had the most luck with the pluck no more. It took 10 weeks but all of her feathers came back and so far she's stopped picking. I have kept up maintenance with treatments for 5 days every other month. It's been 6 months and she's looking good.

**Q: The front label states, "great for dogs too" .."stops excessive itching on dogs" does the back label give instructions on how to use 4 this purpose?**
A: I think the only instructions are for birds. Let me check--no, there is no mention of dogs on the label.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Pluck No More
*by R***N on March 29, 2010*

I've used up 3 bottles of King's Cages Pluck No More per their instructions and I have had mixed results with my plucking bird. He seems to be playing with his chew toys for the first time. He grew some feathers but then picked them. Since it is spring and we believe his picking is sexually oriented, I am continuing to use it, hoping for the best.
