Magoo Plain Black Premium Magnetic Car Tax Disc Holder - MOT License and Parking Permit Holder

Our car came with what seemed like a quarter of its windscreen taken up by the supplying dealer's stupid tax disc holder, of which the holder was but a small section compared to the dealer's emblazoned self-promotion. I think if my car is going to be used as an advertising hoarding by the motor trade, it'd be good to be offered a payment for that in advance. Of course, that's never going to happen, so after getting rid of the dealer's blue plastic junk -- seemingly slammed onto the screen with epoxy resin, it took so long to get the darn stuff off the glass -- I tried a motoring organisation branded holder that seemed to imply quality on account of its asking price, but which repeatedly fell off. I then tried a cheapo here from Amazon and that repeatedly fell off, too.The failure of both discs had nothing to do with how they'd been applied: each was adhered to the windscreen on a warm, but not hot day, and only after the glass had been cleansed with nail varnish remover and then washed twice with clear water.And then this Magoo product came into sight. And still is: literally. Unlike the expensive predecessor, and the cheapo predecessor, it went on without fuss and has stayed in place ever since, and in all weathers, from cold damp England to 35C in Spain. What's particularly notable -- apart from the performance -- is the price, for although it directly replaced the cheapo disc holder, it was actually cheaper to buy than even that.It's very well made (compared to the other two) and commendably omits any logo or advertising on the inward-facing surface. And it was instantly despatched by the supplier too. Definitely, a 5-star product at a one-star price, and excellent supplier service as well. Recommended.

I am so pleased I bought this, it looks so much neater than any other holder I have used, and is quite discreet. Don't you hate it when you take your car in for a service and they replace your old holder (albeit a tatty one which is falling off the windscreen) with a huge monstrosity with the garage's logo on. Which also peels off and looks even more tatty. Well, no more does this vicious circle happen with this little beauty. It is so easy to change the disc, just take off the magnetic back and pop the new disc behind the back and plop back on the windscreen, voila!It withstands heat, ice, and severe misting up, and still sits on the windscreen perfectly. And is a bargain to boot!My only small criticism is that you need to trim the tax disc slightly larger than the perforations so there's a big enough edge for the magnet to grip on so it doesn't fall out.

Excellent delivery, packaged well and the disc holder is great. It looks very chic in plain black and sooo much better than the cheap plastic see-through holders. It's robust and thick and, more importantly, it stays stuck on the window!It won't obstruct your vision on the windscreen due to either size, or being unsightly, and it holds extremely well.Great value! You won't be disappointed.UPDATE: Some people complained that the tax disc is too big to insert in this holder. This isn't the case, it's a perfect fit.Also, I've had it on the windscreen since I bought it and it has not fallen off once or even come slightly unstuck...

This is a good-looking product which works well.You might not think that a magnetic tax disc holder is a complicated thing to design, but I found out the hard way that not all products of this generic type are any good. The one I bought was sold as a Magoo, but turned out to be a knockoff. It didn't look good and the backing disc kept falling off.Gary at Magoo Designs found out about the scam and was kind enough to send me a genuine one free of charge (I've since bought another). The real Magoo is a different animal, and I recommend it. The backing disc is made from rubbery magnetic material that looks smart and holds well.

The first magnetic tax disc holder I tries failed after about 10 seconds so I gave up. But the idea is such a good one that I thought I'd try another product. This Magoo actually works, in that the two parts do hold together and do hold the tax disc. This might not sound very amazing, but if you've tried other magnetic tax disc holders before, you'll appreciate that to find one which actually sticks is pretty incredible! I'll give only 4 stars though because I do feel it could benefit from having a stronger magnetic force.

I think there is some confusion in the reviews about this product, these are NOT cheap cardboard, they are a plastic adhesive ring with a rubber back. The backing sits firmly enough that there is no danger of it blowing/falling off, although knocking or brushing it might displace it a bit.They are the perfect size for a tax disc:the instructions suggest cutting off the perforations but i just smoothed/bent them down.I like the unbranded backing and the idea of replacing the disc easily.

These are great value for money tax disc holders. I wanted 2 so I could replace the tatty old one and a second to hold my university car park disc. I bought 2 and got 1 free. The design is plain and simple, and they have stuck onto the windscreen perfectly fine and are showing no signs of coming off. I gave the windscreen a good clean with sticky stuff remover before I put them on. They are just a few mm too small, as the disc overhangs a tiny bit but this is nothing to complain about. These did take slightly longer to arrive than anticipated but still within a reasonable time frame.

These magnetic discs are great.No frills or gimmics, straight forward good value for money disc holders.Looks good, easy to fit, does what it says on the tin.Used previously but gets changed whenever the wind screen goes.Of late that's once a year.And for the price, don't bother running around for replacement, just click and wait, and the delivery was quick.
